Pakistani rishta · the UK

Pakistani rishta in the UK — verified, private and family-friendly.

For British Pakistanis and their families: search verified profiles across the UK and Pakistan, keep your photos private, and involve parents on your own terms.

Finding a rishta as British Pakistanis

Britain is home to one of the largest Pakistani communities outside Pakistan, and finding a rishta here often means balancing two worlds — a British upbringing and career, and a family whose roots, expectations and relatives may be in Mirpur, Lahore, Jhelum or Karachi.

Many British Pakistanis want a spouse who shares that mix: someone who understands life in the UK and also values faith, family and culture. Others are open to a proposal from Pakistan. PakSouls lets you search for both, with filters for where someone lives now and where their family is from.

Whether you live in London, Birmingham, Bradford, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Luton or Slough — or anywhere else in the UK — you can join PakSouls free and search for a spouse there, in Pakistan, or both.

Why PakSouls

Built for British Pakistanis and their families.

  • Verification you can read

Email, phone, live selfie and education checks each have their own badge — so you know what’s real before families talk.

  • Privacy you control

Show photos to everyone, to verified members only, or only to people you accept. Contact details stay hidden until you approve.

  • Family on your terms

Parents or siblings — here or in Pakistan — can help manage your profile with your consent, clearly labelled.

  • In the UK and in Pakistan

Search for someone already living in the UK, someone in Pakistan, or both — it’s your choice.

Before you say yes

Questions worth discussing early.

Cross-border rishtas work best when both sides are honest about the practical details from the start. Topics to raise in your first few conversations:

  • Where you will live after the nikah — near either family, or wherever work takes you.
  • Whether you are open to a spouse from Pakistan, and how long a spouse visa could keep you apart.
  • Living with in-laws or independently — a common question in British Pakistani families.
  • Careers, study and finances, including who works and how decisions are made.
  • How the two families will be involved in the wedding and afterwards.

For more guidance, read talking about marriage expectations early and how to involve family without losing privacy.

Practical notes

Nikah, registration and visas.

In England and Wales, a nikah on its own is generally not recognised as a legal marriage. Most couples also hold a civil ceremony or marry at a mosque registered for marriages, so both spouses have full legal protection. Rules differ in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

If your spouse is coming from Pakistan, the UK family (spouse) visa has financial, accommodation and English-language requirements that change from time to time. Always check the current rules on GOV.UK and take professional advice rather than relying on what the other family tells you.

This is general information to help you plan, not legal or immigration advice. Never pay another member for help with a visa or sponsorship — see our Safety centre.

Can I find a rishta in the UK on PakSouls?

Yes. You can search for members by where they live now — anywhere in the UK — and by where their family is from in Pakistan. Creating a profile and searching are free.

Can I search for a spouse in Pakistan from the UK?

Yes. Many British Pakistanis are open to proposals from Pakistan. Set your location preferences to include Pakistan, and use verified badges and video calls to get to know someone before families meet.

Is a nikah legally valid in the UK?

In England and Wales a nikah alone is generally not recognised as a civil marriage, so most couples also register their marriage. Check the current rules for your part of the UK. This is general information, not legal advice.

Can my parents in the UK help with my profile?

Yes. A parent or sibling can manage your profile with your recorded consent, and everything they do is labelled “on behalf of”.
