Finding a rishta in Islamabad and Rawalpindi
Many families in the twin cities have moved here for government, armed forces, university or corporate jobs, so their relatives are often spread across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and abroad. The usual rishta network is thinner, and parents often say they simply don’t know enough families locally.
PakSouls helps you widen that circle without losing the family-first approach: verified profiles, introductions between families, and photos that stay private until you decide otherwise.
Whether your family lives in F-6, F-7, F-10, E-11, G-11, I-8, DHA, Bahria Town, Saddar, Satellite Town or Chaklala — or anywhere else in Islamabad and Rawalpindi — you can join PakSouls free and search for a rishta nearby, elsewhere in Pakistan, or abroad.

Before you say yes
Questions worth discussing early.
Rishtas go more smoothly when both families are honest about practical details from the start. Topics to raise in the first few conversations:
- Whether you expect to stay in the twin cities, or move with a posting or job.
- Joint family or a separate home, and how near you would be to each family.
- Careers for both spouses, including government or forces service and any transfers.
- Plans to study or settle abroad, which many twin-city families consider.
- Wedding size and how the families will share the arrangements.
Use our free rishta questions checklist, make a marriage biodata to share with families, and plan costs with the wedding budget planner.
Meeting safely
The first rishta meeting.
A first rishta meeting is usually at home with both families, or at a family-friendly café or restaurant in a busy sector or in Saddar. Keep the first meeting short and in a public place or with family present, and agree beforehand who will attend.
Check the other family’s PakSouls badges before sharing your address or phone number, and ask for references you can confirm independently.
Never pay another member for an introduction, travel or a visa, and report anyone who asks. See our Safety centre.
Practical notes
Nikah and registration.
In Pakistan, a nikah should be registered with the local union council by the nikah registrar, using a properly filled nikah nama. After registration you can get a computerised marriage registration certificate (MRC) from NADRA, which you will need for an updated CNIC, a passport or a spouse visa.
Read every clause of the nikah nama, including haq mehr and the delegated right of divorce, before signing. This is general information, not legal advice.
