Practical notes
Nikah, registration and visas.
In Germany, only a civil marriage at the registry office (Standesamt) is legally valid. Couples who have a nikah usually also marry civilly, or have a marriage from Pakistan recognised. Documents from Pakistan often need verification, which can take time.
A spouse coming from Pakistan usually applies for a family reunification visa, which often requires basic German. Check the current rules with the German missions in Pakistan and take professional advice.
