Pakistani rishta · Norway
Pakistani rishta in Norway — for Norwegian Pakistanis and their families.
Search verified profiles in Norway, across Scandinavia and in Pakistan, with privacy you control and parents involved on your terms.
Finding a rishta as Norwegian Pakistanis
Norway’s Pakistani community is one of the oldest in Europe: many families arrived in the 1970s, a lot of them from the Kharian area, and settled in and around Oslo. Today second- and third-generation Norwegian Pakistanis are doctors, lawyers, engineers and business owners, and often want a spouse who shares that life.
PakSouls helps you look beyond the same few families: search across Norway, Scandinavia and the rest of Europe, or in Pakistan if you are open to that.
Whether you live in Oslo, Drammen, Lillestrøm, Lørenskog, Bergen or Stavanger — or anywhere else in Norway — you can join PakSouls free and search for a spouse there, in Pakistan, or both.

Before you say yes
Questions worth discussing early.
Cross-border rishtas work best when both sides are honest about the practical details from the start. Topics to raise in your first few conversations:
- Where you will live: near either family in Norway, elsewhere in Scandinavia, or abroad.
- Whether you are open to a spouse from Pakistan, and what Norway’s family immigration rules would mean for timing.
- Learning Norwegian, and work or study for a spouse who moves.
- Living with in-laws or independently, a common question in Norwegian Pakistani families.
- How both families will be involved in the wedding and afterwards.
For more guidance, read talking about marriage expectations early and how to involve family without losing privacy.
Practical notes
Nikah, registration and visas.
In Norway, a nikah can be a legally valid marriage when it is performed by an authorised officiant from a registered faith community, and the couple has first had their eligibility to marry checked by the Norwegian Tax Administration (prøvingsattest). Otherwise couples marry civilly as well.
A spouse coming from Pakistan applies for family immigration, which has income and other requirements. Check the current rules with the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) and take professional advice.
